CASE CONSULTATION FOR WEIGHT-INCLUSIVE PROVIDERS

Deepen your skills.

Discover your voice.

Deliver values-aligned care.

If you’re a dietitian, therapist, nurse, physical therapist or anyone who works in the healthcare field who practices (or wants to practice) through a weight-inclusive, intuitive eating, and eating disorder-informed lens, you already know:

This work is powerful. AND this work is complex.

You’re not just talking about food.

You’re navigating shame, trauma, body image distress, and deeply held beliefs - all while trying to stay regulated, compassionate, and effective as the clinician.

Case consultation is the space where you get to build the skills you weren’t taught in school to help you feel more confident and grounded in your helping profession.

I will never forget the first client I worked with who had an eating disorder.

I actually still see her from time to time after 5 years because of my standardized, compassionate relationship-building and client-retention skills that keep my clients rebooking, years later.

Thinking back to all those years ago, sitting down for our first session… I panicked.

My heart was racing and I so badly wanted to avoid doing harm.

I tried to think back to the one measly lesson in school about eating disorders but surprise, surprise, none of that information actually helped me in the moment.

HERE'S WHAT I DIDN'T DO:

01

I didn’t lie and tell her I had a full caseload and couldn’t take her on out of fear.

02

I didn’t refer her out to someone who would do a “better job” than me (because avoidance doesn't increase confidence or foster growth).

03

I didn’t start pulling out old textbooks or googling “what to say to a client with an eating disorder”.

Instead, what I *did* do was reach out to a seasoned dietitian in the field for case consultation.

A space where I could get support for more than just reading labs or understanding meal plans, a space where I could learn how to actually show up in the room.

I needed guidance on how to hold space for someone else’s pain without spiraling into self-doubt or overwhelm.

I needed help navigating the nuances of body image distress, of working with ambivalence, of staying aligned with my values while also meeting my client exactly where she was.

Case consultation didn’t just help me with that one session, it changed how I practiced.

It helped me feel less alone, more equipped, and more rooted in the kind of provider I wanted to be.

Now, I offer that same space to you.

Because this work is too important (and too relational) to do in isolation.

Whether you’re newer to this space or just craving deeper, values-aligned support, case consultation is here to help you grow in confidence, clarity, and clinical depth.

THIS IS FOR THE PROVIDER WHO:

01

Identifies as a weight-inclusive, intuitive eating, and/or eating disorder provider (or is interested in embracing these principles more)

02

Struggles with how to navigate challenging conversations (like when a client says “but I still want to lose weight…”)

03

Feels stuck or unsure how to hold space for emotions you can’t personally relate to (like the experiences of your clients in differently sized bodies)

04

Is working on recognizing and addressing your own biases in session

05

Wants to feel more confident, informed, and rooted in your values while doing this work

Supervision is a collaborative space where we'll focus on helping you:

01

Navigate sessions with clinical nuance and trauma-informed care

02

Stay aligned with your core values while still supporting your clients’ autonomy

03

Understand how to respond rather than react, especially in the face of emotionally-charged or ethically complex situations

04

Learn to hold emotional space safely, without over-identifying, fixing, or freezing

05

Embrace your humanness as a clinician in a way that supports (not detracts from) professionalism and trust

06

Get practical support for client cases that feel confusing or heavy

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

In our training, we’re (hopefully) taught the basics of counseling at the bare minimum.

Maybe even some motivational interviewing skills, if we’re lucky.

But we’re not taught how to:

  • Build safe, attuned, relational dynamics
  • Raise concerns about disordered eating in a gentle and compassion way
  • Handle big feelings like grief, trauma, or rage in session
  • Address body image distress in a fatphobic culture
  • Understand the power dynamics of provider-client relationships
  • Sit with the discomfort of not having all the answers

These are the real skills required to do this work ethically and sustainably.

This is the work that helps you grow, not just as a clinician - but as a human.

If you’re in private practice, this growth impacts waaay more than your counseling skills and confidence alone. When you counsel effectively, clients want to keep coming back, rebooking session after session because their experience is *just that good* (many of my clients work with me consistently for years).

It means you’re not only improving outcomes, which is at the heart of why we do this work, but you’re also increasing your income (and who doesn’t want that).

Plus, you’ll collect glowing testimonials and rave reviews to feature on your website and a steady stream of word-of-mouth referrals because clients can’t stop telling their friends and family about their progress with you.

"Working with Kate has been an incredibly impactful experience in both my professional growth and personal confidence as a weight inclusive dietitian. Her supervision style is thoughtful, grounding, and deeply rooted in the values of compassion and inclusivity.

Kate creates a safe space where I feel fully supported to process clinical cases, explore challenges, and expand my skills without judgment.

What makes her unique is her ability to blend clinical supervision with business coaching, helping me not only show up more confidently for my clients but also build a practice that aligns with my values and long term vision. I leave each session with practical tools, fresh perspective, and the reassurance that I’m not navigating this work alone.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Kate’s supervision and coaching to any dietitian seeking to strengthen their clinical practice, grow their business with integrity, and feel more grounded in weight inclusive care."
